Is there a tool or method to find a provider that is suspected of steeling the items shipped? All I have are 2 phone numbers and their email address.  Delivery was scheduled for today and no calls and no reply. Guess I should have known!

Let me guess you took the low bid!Or better yet you did not read paragraph 13,14,15, of the uship user agreement!one thing that will happen when the economy gets like this is you the shipper will take the low bid which is somewhat understandable!email mickey and try to go for a cancellation and then if he has allready pickedup then report to the local authorities.Good luck!!

Low bid, no contract, did they sign and give you a copy of anything describing what they picked up? Hope you did'nt pay them up front. I have GPS tracking in my trucks, so if my customer wants to know where I'm at, they just log on to a site and punch in a code and bingo, I'm the big red dot driving down the road. Costs me $20 amonth. It helps ease their stress. What did they pickup?

Not low bid, but I should have known, no feed back.  My Bad... and lesson learned, 1st time I used the u-ship site, but  did not pre-pay. Funny, reverse phone search of the posted phone number comes up Hilo Hawaii.  Will be doing a little more detective work and filing a theft report with authorities. Sure would have been easier to check this up front.

Well good luck. You might email heather@uship.com to see if they can help, but i seriously doubt they can. Next time, ask for usdot/mc#, verify active authority, have their insurance company fax copy of insurance to you, and atleast take a picture of them loading the item along with a picture of the license plates and signs on the side of the vehicle picking up item. No problems after that.

Uship will have the name address and phone number of your carrier, can you post a link to your shipment so maybe someone here might know your carrier and tell you how to contact him. Try posting the link to your shipment.

This is a message to all the people that are using this site to ship something

USE A DOT COMPLIANT CARRIER ONLY

Its the Federal Law that anyone that transports ANYTHING for any kind of PAYMENT be a DOT COMPLIANT CARRIER. It doesnt matter if its as small as a BREADBOX or as large as a ARMY TANK the CARRIER NEEDS to be

DOT COMPLIANT

Ask for their INSURANCE COMPANY INFO before your shipment is picked up to protect yourself from loosing your item.

I am now just using this site for ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSED ONLY and will not bid on or take a shipment from this site

The sites below may be of some help to your situation. If you have been victimized by a household goods moving company, broker, or any other carrier, use the links below to file a complaint.

Contact law-enforcement officials at the local and state level (your local and state police departments)

Also contact law-enforcement officials in the perpetrator's town & state

Federal Trade Commision

Be sure to include Reference # 12750113

Federal Motor Carrier Administration (only of use if your Carrier has the Federally required authority to transport for hire)  "MC and DOT#"

Better Business Bureau

If you think you may have been the victim of identity theft or other crimes, contact your state attorney general!

http://www.ic3.gov/

The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) is a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C).

!!Protect yourself and your property!!

Did you acquire and VERIFY the validity of your chosen Carrier's FEDERALLY MANDATED DOT & MC #'s as per the UShip User Agreement?

Note: Did you know that NO active "MC #" = No COMMERCIAL insurance?

Thanks for the advice guys, I will be at least reporting the theft, but I am sure this type of activity is way low on law enforment radar.

Lesson learned.

It appears that your Service Provider has been suspended form UShip. That in itself only reinforces their lack of motivation to do the right thing on your behalf?
