| What I really do not understand in way would you want to pay the Milage and Fuel tax's at the ports of entry, dailey, weekly, quarterly, or however. When the Apportioned plates are so much less expensive. The money saved far outpasses the cost of yor DOT,MC,IRP,IFTA SSR3,Etc. unless your not payong for legit MOTOR CARRIER & CARGO INS.

And what size vehicle are you talking about? GVW less than 10,000lbs? Don't think so.

One its all factered in on the primary haul. For instance I do most of the relocating for a particular University in Texas. Their faculty are sent to other schools on loan for a semester or school year. By the way have you ever done any work for a state agency? Insurance requirements are out the a*@. I am over insured. Now this goes on year round. I know my fuel costs round trip, hotel, food, labor, insurance, permits and fees...you know basic costs. My basic run after costs is 70% profit. I don't roam the country looking for jobs. Mine are from or to texas. If i'm empty coming or going I might pickup a snack. I've done this for 6yrs, pay the fuel taxes, permits, and fee's as I go. I could almost be considered private not for hire. I do not run big trucks anymore, only 1 ton dually's with various trailers.

| Regardless of the registered weight of the equipment you pay a much higher rate when you get a temporary or single use trip permit than if you use IFTA,SSRP,IRP. I will use New Mexico as an example- If you get a New Mexico Cab card for a single year it will cost you $2.00 , above that you pay only the mileage operated in New Mexico for that year on a quarterly basis. If you choose to use a single trip permit it will cost you $35.00 PLUS the mileage you run on that trip paid in advance, Each time you get one ! If you vary your routing or operate more miles than you permitted for there will be an additional fee/penalty added. I know math is not everyone's forte' however this seems a bit more costly to me. And that is not taking into consideration the time spent at the port of entry getting the permit. In some Jurisdictions (Oregon) you can only get permits during business hours M-F (or in advance over the phone w/ a credit card, still takes time). I would not/cannot tell you how to operate your business, after all it's you time/money (what little there may be of each) Also I would like to reiterate that if you repeatedly operate using the temporary permit and single trip permit method eventually you will be compelled to go to the IFTA,SSRP,IRP usage as it is in place to eliminate the type of operating you've outlined. Or you may be denied renewal of your registration. You see, the FMCSA as well as the other commercial motor vehicle enforcement agencies are not complete idiots as some would have you believe. The biggest reason that there are people operating outside the law and apparently getting away with it is simply because the system is quite busy and the workload is great. Essentially, if your slipping through the cracks, your operating on borrowed time. Check out the higher fines now being imposed and you will clearly see that noncompliance can be costly and potentially confining (Jail time). In this competitive capitalistic society we all operate in the risk does not exceed or even equal the reward. good luck, you may need it !

| How about a section for people to list a route they will be traveling and what they are driving.( For example) ....2007 Toyota Tundra with empty 16ft flat bed trailer will be headed from Austin,Tx to Portland Oregon from June 12-June 16th. ...2004 Dodge Cummins Pickup with 4horse empty trailer headed from Fresno California to Cheyenne Wyoming November 22nd. ...Honda Civic 4 door will be driven from Dallas,Tx to New York City. can haul passengers, etc. August 14-17..... anyone like this idea?
