Is it reasonable to think a TSP should give a reason why a bid is canceled? If the TSP has multiple bids in for a particular route and the bids auto cancel when one is accepted shouldn't the shipper be advised of such circumstance? Should the TSP be required to explain the cancelation reason?

Robert, a cynic would say why would the TSP use this "valuable tool" knowing that most "valuable tools" have liitle value to the TSP. Not that I am a cynic you understand On a serious note my own viewpoint is that a cancellation should not count as a negative - period. If there is a genuine reason for it then it should be adjudicated as such. If not then the person at fault should pay up in full not just the USHIP fee. If the shipper is at fault they owe the TSP. If the TSP is at fault then they owe the shipper for the cost of getting the shipment there within the agreed timeframe. If it is a no fault then no one owes anything. Radical thougths there it is kinda suprising that contract law never developed that way - oh wait a minute .....................
