I'm really new to this UShip and I was looking at it as a way of getting back hauls for my truck(s), but I'm confused.  As a shipper, when do I get the money for a shipment?  I see where the fees come in but I don't understand truly the way a shipper gets paid.  Please help before I place bids...thanks!

You get paid directly by the customer. Once a bid gets accepted uship provides the both of you with all the contact info. From there uship has nothing to do with it, hence the "neutral venue" clause in the user agreement. This site is just a meeting place for the TSP to get together with the folks that need service. But since the upkeep of this site costs money they charge us, the TSP, money for the benefit of utilizing this service to meet these people.

Now another option is to forward all the money to me and then I deduct my fee to handle everything so I can buy make-up, taller platform shoes and fuel and I give you what is left.(just kidding).

Seriously, uship has nothing to do with it once a bid gets accepted. That's between you and the owners of the stuff you are bidding on.

Now the advice is free but the platform shoes cost 129.95 so I can quite staring at the back of people's kneecaps!(just kidding again).

Hope I answered all your questions.

The terminology used is understandable after a review of the FMCSA record (VERY NEW). The insurance issue isn't a factor either. For there is NONE required when registered as a Contract Carrier as in this case.

!!Protect yourself and your property!!

Did you acquire and VERIFY the validity of your chosen Carrier's FEDERALLY MANDATED DOT & MC #'s as per the UShip User Agreement?

http://www.uship.com/user_agreement.aspx

Note: Did you know that NO active "MC #" = No COMMERCIAL insurance?

OOPS !!!!!!!

INTERSTATE" transport requires an ACTIVE "MC" number! You verify it at the Government's "REAL TIME" web site: http://li-public.fmcsa.dot.gov/LIVIEW/pkg_html.prc_limain

 Still don't understand? Read this:

OK...Lets try this AGAIN !!!   The SHIPPER does NOT get paid. The SHIPPER never gets paid. The SHIPPER is the one who needs to get something from point A to point B.  The SHIPPER always PAYS. Got it?  You are the CARRIER or TSP. Bofore you haul property belonging to others, you should really know what YOUR position is!!!!!
