| Good morning to everyone, First, please excuse any written English mistakes; French is my first language. Now, does any of you has kanowledge of a system or kit to ''enlarge'' exhaust to 5'' instead of 4'' on a diesel engine (small diesels like Ford 350) that will save 20% of fuel consumption ? Thanks in advance Regards Mario

Thanks in advance Regards Mario I would think you are going to get the best results by having 4in. all the way from the turbo back. 5 and 6in.is a waste of money on a 1 ton, or 3/4 ton. You need some back pressure. Who claims 20% fuel savings?

| It is my opinion that the bigger exhaust will be most benificial when used in conjunction with a "chip" or power controller. If you "turn the engine up" it is going to suck more air, use more fuel, thus creating more exhaust gas. The larger exhaut is needed so that the added exhaust can get out. 5" is probably too much unless you are drag racing at the strip or doing tractor pulls. If your gonna do all this you may as well get an after market air filter and intake, along with a higher capacity turbo, headers, etc. All the advertising says these upgrades add power AND better fuel mileage. Talk to a pro at a loacl after market truck parts store. i.e. Big Boys Toys...

| On that 7.3 liter you gain a lot just by replacing the factory downpipe after the turbo with a mandrel bent pipe. The factory pipe is crimped and chokes the engine. Same thing on the old GM 6.5 liter.

I wanna put dual 6in chrome stacks on mine... but that is just for looks...
under the truck I am going to go to a true dual 4in with crossover/equalizer to accommodate some other performance upgrades that I am intending, such as a programmer. But then again, my truck is a little bigger than a 'little truck', and I just think the Dual 6in Chrome stacks will look COOL!!! Blus every performance Sticker adds 15 HP right?
Laterz...

| Here is my 2 cents: If you need more power, buy more iron, let it work easier and live longer. There is the true saving.
