Alrighty Then 1 MeanDOG,

1.  You are Illegal, You are Transporting Perishable Agricultural Products outside of your classification across state lines which if I am not mistaken constitutes a FELONY. Which means you are not covered by your USDOT#s, MC#'s or Insurance!

2.  You are Non-Compliant with operating under HOS Rules 16 HRS?

3.  You are Non-Compliant Your Log Books are out

4.   You are Non-Compliant Improper PMCS or Maintenance of your Vehicle.

5.  If you have a CDL now is the time to tuck your head between your legs and kiss your BUTT Goodbye. Cause your probably going to loose them. Truck gets impounded and the Cargo is lost due to the fact that  E-Coli will be found in the shipment and cannot be brought to Market through the Port of Entry.

Moral of the Story  - RUN LEGAL - RUN SAFE or GO TO JAIL!!!

OK how is that for a NEWBIE!

That's as good as any, I guess and Bup-The Adventure Dog, apparently agrees.  But the guy it actually happened to walked out without any OS or citations....so who knows?  If you don't mind, I am curious about a couple of things you said...... what makes you say it would be a felony?  And what do you mean "outside of your classification"?  Why wouldn't he be “covered by his USDOT#s, MC#'s or Insurance?” You're definitely right about the log book hits though...and that's where most drivers document their pre-trip inspections so that would likely be a double hit.  But the thing that has me the most mystified is your truck.......a 2006 Chevy F-350 TURBO DIESEL POWERSTROKE.  Now that is pretty unusual.  Anyway, welcome to the wonderful world of uShipping.... ..and bullShipping.

Don....

Frank...  of course you can haul with your Subaru and 2000# trailer.  Under current regulations you won't even need authority or be regulated by US DOT's FMCSA if you keep everything below 10,001 pounds total.  Just don't haul any HazMat or passengers.   I may start doing that too with an S-10 pickup and two wheel utility cart.  Tony is in the best position though, he has that little GEM car.  His GVWR is probably about 900 lbs for the car.
