ALPHASTOCK (5/12/2008)
thank you guys, i will definately update you on the proceedings. i guess i have to be conservative on my figures so as to avoid loosing the claim if they believe i am being fraudlent. i did not run last year, Don and also yu are correct I have a Dodge 3500. I will put the milage at 6 miles per gal. The previous was an average since if i dont hit the wind that wat i get. but i will try to be conservative with my numbers, and will show them some of the few paperwork i have to substantiate these claims. i was also of the opinion that if i print out a Central.....D webpage with these destination states and the prices charged, that might also work for the revenue. As for the expenses I have a bank statement. once again thank you guys. Any update?

I doubt showing potential income would do any good . There is no guarantee you would get those loads . Besides , with operating expenses going up , loads posted now might calculate to net less than previous loads did . They'll want to see your actual past net revenue . I know , been there , done that .

| Update I am back on the road, they fixed my truck, and below is an episode that just happened about 2 hrs ago, on my 1st load after getting back on the road. I got them the figures for the loss of income claim, and they told me they were to get to me and it has been 4 days now. | Don and all fellas. After my wreck in Colorado abt 7 weeks ago I am back on the road. I once posted a question abt wat happens wen u run past a scale. I got tons and tons of advice, and today right now I am on a lockdown in OK 60 miles from Oklahoma City from DFW on I-35N. Yes i ran a scale was followed had a class 1 audit passed fortunately with few scars, but was cited for running scale and ratings. See i am total Gross Weight registered trailer Kaufman Wedge 9400 and car 7900. I am hauling 2 vans and my combined weight altogether is 24K. I have been locked down for not having a log book. I have to get into a hotel since my Dodge Dually dont have a cab. Will leave this place after 10 hrs. I already posted bond of $325 for the 2 offences, no log and under rating. I remember ya'll telling and chipping in the forums abt the ratings to get rated about 26K on the registrations, and also not to run scales, but see now. I hope other newbies will listen and refrain from doing what i did. Luckily I am a legal hauler otherwise it could have been something else. I tried to negotiate to continue with the journey but was told about 118 miles radius of which i had not reached from DFW on I-35N. Was told that since my destination is ND, i am in lock down now. Any cheerful comments are mostly welcome at this time. Kay-K |

| Update Don I have e mailed you the final document I submitted and this is what they are willing to accomodate me with. On my earlier posts I had indicated my wreck, etc, and now the insurance has agreed to get me $7K for the downtime of 7 weeks. They wanted to take out 20% tax but i disagreed, and also they are saying they got me a rental so they wanted to deduct that amount too, $1300 when the truck was being repaired. Attached is the way I calculated my downtime, before I accept and cash the check, do you feel I did the correct calculations sir? I have a take 3 wedge trailer and I mostly ply the WA, OR, ID, MT, WY states from Texas Dallas. I will await your analysis sir. Should I go aheard or resubmitt a new set of requirements?
The total repair bill was $14K no major frame damage but the front panels were removed, and no air bag explosions. Alphastock

Alphastock Got it and responded to your email but I'm afraid I wasn't much help......I looked it over and it seemed to be well detailed....at least as far as I know. I wish I could be of more help, but I just have not had any experience with situations similar to yours. My suggestion would be to let a couple of the other guys take a look and see what they think. Maybe one of them would be able to give you some recommendations. John H, Mike, Eric, or Tony, among several others may have something more useful to tell you. The only other thing I can think of would may be to have an attorney that specializes in those types of cases to review it. It might well be worth a $100 or so consulting fee to have a professional take a look and advise you. Good luck and I hope it works out well for you whatever you decide to do. Don......

| Final settelement After repeated back and forth with these insuarance people my final claim for lose of income for 7 weeks was $7,5K. Out of this amount we closed the settlement by me accepting $7K. These guys were taking their time and I had bills piled up, so that the end of this story. If anyone gets into these issues I might be able to assist you up to including Depreciation of Value of your truck or equipment. Alphastock
