So just to confirm, when a mover has no MC or DOT # , are they doing the move illegally? How is it that they would have insurance coverage without those numbers? WHAT IS PAF ?If they're operating vehicles or a combination of vehicles which by their weight class, fall within the FMCSA's definition of a CMV (Commercial Motor Vehicle), they're required to have an acitive US DOT# & MC# assigned to them or a company they lease to. Almost any small pick up and trailer will be classified as a CMV when used to transport in interstate commerce. Without active authority (MC# assignment), that person is transporting illegally. Anyone can buy cargo insurance. You can buy it yourself for your own shipment. It isn't the same type of cargo insurance as the compliant motor carrier's commercial cargo insurance....so yes, they could have insurance and still be illegally transporting. Individuals can purchase shipment insurance from companies such as PAF for period of time or even for a single shipment. You don't have to be a compliant motor carrier to do that........but it doesn't make you a legal carrier. You sneaked that one in there....I almost missed it, but you asked.......WHAT IS PAF ? Look it up rookie....it is an insuror

DIANADLN..I dont know if i would lesson to what most of these people say that post on this site over and over again and again..I am not saying i know it all and have only tryed to ship one thing on this site,but in the last week i have been doing a lot of reading..And there must be some kind of exempt rule(NOT NEEDING A DOT# OR MC#) for all these people to ship on this site(I DONT HAVE THE TIME TO LOOK OVER ALL THE REGS THERE ARE PAGES OF THEM..LOL..)But i know there are 100s if not 1000s of people shipping things every day of this site and they all cant be braking the law?I WOULD JUST PICK A SHIPPER THAT HAS A GOOD FEED BACK RECORD AND INSURANCE.Have every thing in writting and relax...1000s of people are doing it and every thing is fine..I would look out for people that post there so called MC# OR DOT# on this forum,because of what i understand about USHIP rules that info shouldnt be given till a bid is accepted,and i think the ones that are doing that(DURATRANS) ARE BRAKING THE RULES OF GIVEN PHONE NUMBERS AND ADDRESS BEFOR THERE BID IS ACCEPTED..Trying to beat the sysem and go behind USHIP fee system...Thats just my 2 cents for what ever its worth?:

Bad spelling and grammar is a pet peeve of mine. Especially since EVERY computer has spell check. lesson----listen tryed--tried 2times braking--breaking of--off writting--writing shouldnt--shouldn't there--their 2times given--giving befor--before sysem--system thats--that's ASD level moderate, blood pressure 100/40......... Amazing what 200 miles on the bike early in the day will do for you

Oh I know it will go up  . That's why I'm going for an evening ride here in about 30 minutes  . The bike has always been my therapy and Dr. Jack confirmed that this may be the only way to tolerate the severe case of ASD that I have since I am not much of a drinker (at this point of my life). Oh and he also prescribed calling Tony at 02:30

I would love to see his answer, USHIP is the one that IMPORTED IT from the FMCSA WEB site and since this little GIRL knows so much "CALL ME LITTLE GIRL" you know my number. But again I want to THANK YOU for making it PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE because YES SOMEONE CALLED ME TODAY only after reading here how to find me so PLEASE PLEASE keep up the ADVERTISING FOR ME and all the OTHER LEGAL CARRIERS, its working GREAT. This is a message to all the people that are using this site to ship something USE A DOT COMPLIANT CARRIER ONLY Its the Federal Law that anyone that transports ANYTHING for any kind of PAYMENT MUST be a DOT COMPLIANT CARRIER. It doesnt matter if its as small as a BREADBOX or as large as a ARMY TANK the CARRIER NEEDS to be DOT COMPLIANT Ask for their INSURANCE COMPANY INFO before your shipment is picked up to protect yourself from loosing your item and call the company to check its a good POLICY, some have been know to make FAKE POLICY PAPERS UP.
