Had a bid request on a load from CA to GA. 2685 miles. There was a bid for $1200 for TWO VEHICLES! Do the math.

.....no end in sight to the madnes!

I think I remember that one... The guy came into the forums asking what he was doing wrong as he had no bids and we all told him his target was way too low, informed him of reasonable rates and he seemed to take well to it so we all told him to contact you! Same guy?

I believe it was.  They declined the bid of $1200 (Declined / Dates not compatible) and now the book it now proce is $1600 for both vehicles.  That is still about half of what it should be.

I have seen those type of comments on per mile rates quite a bit on this place. Quality van shipper (hmm.. wonder what happened to him and his vocal plan of becoming a legal transporter?) USED TO say "no one wants to pay more than a $1 per mile" or something close to that. It does not matter what you want to pay, rates are what they are (or at least rates should be). The LTL is from one the best marinas I have found, this is the last season for them. They are liquidating the boat inventory and I am taking back all boat toy stuff to the manufacturer/distributer. I was not the highest price, but also not the lowest. Renting a truck and flying back, still gonna do very well on this load after factoring in all expenses and considering half the drive time. LTL prices vary a lot depending on a lot of different factors, the big LTL carriers prices are all over the place. I am gonna spend a lot more time building a bigger customer base (brokers included) so I can one day use this site as amusement only, any calls from REAL boat movers with tips and help will be greatly appreciated and remember "no good deed goes unpunished" (I feel that way anymore). Did anyone notice the length of this paragraph? Gee, I sure can ramble on and on and on and on,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,.
Must have been that pic I took of him in his vanHAHAHA!At the flyj on I20 you know that state katrina tryed to wipe out!!

Sure that wasn't me before I got a real diesel (mine had more road scars, tough old girl), old 6.5 was good but underpowered (dang nice big sleeper though). Got 515,000 MILES before trading in still running strong(for a 6.5), amsoil and samples always came back super.
