THERE ARE A LOT OF HAULERS THAT ARE NOT PROPERLY PERMITTING THE VESSELS THEY ARE HAULING. THERE IS A MOVEMENT IN MANY STATES TO TICKET AND IMPOUND NON PERMITTED LOADS. TO LEAGLELY TRANSPORT ANY VESSEL OVER STATE LINES TRANSPORTER MUST BE LEAGLEY PERMITTED WITH APPORTION PLATES AND DOT AUTHORIZED NUMBERS. WE HAVE PICKED UP THREE VESSELS THROUGH OUR BROKKERS THAT WERE IMPOUNDED BY DIFFERANT STATES DOT DEPTS. THE PICK-UP BANDITS SHOULD BEWARE. DOT ARE CRACKING DOWN ON THOSE THAT ARE NOT CONDUCTING LEAGLE HAULS TO INTERSTATE TRAFFIC LAWS.

Is it even legal to move plants? How do I find a mover for a small tree?

I am planning on moving my studio apartment soon and I know I cannot include my ficus as household moving trucks can't really take plants (I did manage to talk a mover into doing it once but I had to box it and it was a during the fall so it wasn't too hot/cold).

I saw on here however that people are moving pets...do you think there is any chance I could find someone to move a 4ft tall ficus separately from my studio if I boxed it up again? Is it against the law? How would I even post something like that?

It would probably be cheaper to replace it but I have had it for 10 years and it was a gift from a close family member. I am unnaturally attached to, kinda like a pet, and I would be sad if I had to find it another home.

Rebate timing

I am moving in July--some people think it's early to be asking for bids, but I need to start getting things squared away now due to work, pets, etc. The rebate offer says that you need to submit a request for a rebate within 60 days of the match. However, if I accept a bid right now, it will be more like 108 days (or so) before I move and my shipment is delivered. So am I not eligible for the rebate because I'm doing things early?

Accused of stealing a dog I was shipping

I delivered a Pit Bull from Tampa to Augusta, GA. The Pit Bull was considered aggresive by the Tampa Police Department and the owners were told that if the Pit Bull got out again, the home owner (a relative of the owner) would be prosecuted for a felony. It was imperative that the dog was moved from its Tampa location, so against my better judgement, I carried the dog to Augusta. I had to pick up another dog and then ran into heavy traffic and stuck behind a massive interstate wreck, so ran behind. I ended driving through backwoods GA to get the dog delivered.

When I get through delivering the two dogs, I get back online to find the following feedback...

Negative: i waS TOTALLY LET DOWN AND MY DOG WAS STOLEN

This is totally false. I delivered the dog the next morning to the owner in GA, was paid, and continued my trip with the other dog to NY. This virtually ends my uShip work. It is a pure, outright lie, after I bent over backwards to help this guy out of his problem.

If it is not removed, I guess I am done with uShip, as no one will ship there dog/cat with me. What a joke. We get feedback which we are judged by, and they get feedback which means nothing.

I know everything over 26001 pounds require a CDL. What about over width loads? Do you need a CDL to get a permit to carry a boat or tariler over 8'6" wide? Thanks!

newbie question about jobs

After doing some investigating about becoming a trucker, I decided that it just won't pay to do it myself. But I would be interested in maybe driving a smaller truck for someone else, maybe on a part time basis. Does anyone know if i have to go to a truck driving school if I am only driving smaller trucks i.e, pick-ups. drive aways, panal vans, ect. And where do I look for driving jobs like that, if they even exist? I am just south of Detroit which I have been told is a major trucking area? Thanks for any help.

Frieght Brokerers and Forwarders

I thought it was bad enough that us carriers had to deal with brokers and forwarders in the real trucking world then came uship a site designed for the guy who rarely ships things and wants things shipped at a fair market value, Great site Then come the hagelers FF and Brokers who have no business being here other then that in the real world of trucking they have swindled so many larger companies that they had no where to go and here they dont have to show bonds that support them if they fail to pay a carrier there wage. Uship should be a shame, Its bad enough that the cost of fuel,insurance and maintanence has gone out the roof you allow a broker and frieght forwarder to worm there way into a consumers pocket you have no watch dog who checks the brokers bonds to broker when they are getting thier numbers up a shipper will automaticly go to a higher marked carrier .But the consumer has no idea that they are having these guys bid just to give it to a carrier at a lower cost..its a shame...

Motor Coach and towing

I have been looking around the net for answers and someone pointed me here so I am hoping someone can at least say yea or nea on what I want to do.

First off my motor coach:

Due to its construction I am unable to lengthen the frame of the coach and properly add a deck with akingpin setup which is what I wanted to do until careful examination of the coach's original stretching. What we are looking to do however is to place a pintle hook on the rear of the coach and then a conversion dolly under a 45' wabash trailer thus being able to pull the weight without taking on a large verticle load on the coach itself.

My understanding is my only issue is length as the coach is considered a storage unit. The coach being 22 feet (not including the tractor section) and the trailer 45 makes me 67' + the distance between the coach and trailer. Registering in Montana allows me 75' which should keep me within the legal length.

Anything else I should know or worry about?

i see this truck from rhode island that pulls up to the local "dog boutique" that has a few dozen puppies, caged and covered in feces. she either takes a puppy or denies it and hes off.....
im in california. the truck isnt marked that it has live animals. im not trying to shut her down but i would like her to stop selling these animals. this is such a horrific sight. i cant seem to find what the laws are in transporting these dogs. this cant be legal!

Transport plates

I see numerous guys offering to use their transport plates on boats , trailers and rv's. I have Wisconsin transporter plates and they are a dealer plate and specifically only to be used on new units being transported from manufacturer to dealer or conversion facility, or first purchaser, or from dealer to 1st purchaser, in other words not for usage to deliver any used units. WI plates cost $75 a year for the 1st two plates.

Do other states allow transport plates to be used on used units, and what do they charge per year?

I have a small shipment going from NC to UT,

Got a bid, worked on prices which got squared away and fair I beleive

I asked about insurance and was told had it and in profile,

In looking at fed website, I see required amount 750K and actual 0

Asked about it again and still get I got it,,,,If the safersys is not showing

then I am getting fed a line of crap,,Right?

THe report shows no contract authority last insurance was cancelled 11/2006

contract privilages revoked involuntarily 10/30/2006 probably when the insurance was going to run out,,,just a guess.

Help,,,Is there anyone that could give me a couple of minutes.

just tryin to do the wright thing because my unit puts me over the 2600 pounds i have a new dodge 1 ton dulley with a take 3 trailer.this puts me over the limit for no cdl.so i go out and get my cdl and i need cargo and lib.insurance.now i am having a very hard time getting insurance because i havent had my cdl for atleast 2 to 3 years.can any one help me in finding a company that will give some one a brake on the 2 to 3year thing.just trying to be 100% legal and hear it is a big wall in front of me.i need my insurance so i can get my dot and mc #s and so on.any help would be great.thanks

I recieved a bid from achillessia1955 and liked the bid. I asked several questions that were answered by him. I went back to look at the did again and it showed that it was either declined or suspended. In addition to getting his quote, I asked him if he transported furniture and he said that if I accept his bid then he can contact me and discuss the latter.

My question is how do I now get back in touch with this bidder. Why do bidders get suspended if they have a 100% rating?

I am totaly new to U-Ship. I sent off the APHIS 7011 form today. I plan on using my car to deliver dogs or cats. To keep things in perspective with the shipper and myself,Other than keeping in touch throughout the transportation of ones pet. What form should I use to have them sign when I pick up their pet for delivery. And where can I find this form? I want to start out on the right foot and make all of my deliveries happy ones for the shipper and myself. Thanks

Mickey why is it that just about every shipper of the month lately has had no Operating Authority.

In checking out the current Shipper Of the Month, CKFAHEY, is an in house deliver driver for a Bike Company. and if you read his bid's, CKFAHEY, does not have any Insurance coverage of his own, but recommends that your coverage will do just fine, or he will sell you a policey. I know you have heard this a thousand times, To be legal you have to carry the Federally Mandated Liability and Cargo Coverages, which most of us far exceed.

Nect time i'm in Austin I will stop by and give you a number #2 shovel, as a gift, at least this will help you dig UShips grave a liitle easier.
