In what catagory should I offer service repoing mobile homes

Just wondering if it would be possible to list as mobile home repo service provider here on uship. Our business delivers and installs mobile homes locally in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri areas. In the past we brought in repos for the dealerships we deliver for, but they are not currently bringing any to the lots.
Any insight is much appreciated.

What recourse do I have if a pet is lost by shipper?

How do I get my shipper to pay all the expenses I incurred when he lost my pet enroute? I am out over $200 in expenses--rewards, boarding expenses, newspaper ads, etc all because he lost my cat. All I ask is to pay my out of pocket expenses. This includes a vet visit to get him dewormed and a flea treatment (as he was lost in the woods for six days) before my NEW shipper gets him. I have an email from him that says he will do so but he called me on the phone today and was very nasty. He wants me to cancel the shipment on uship and not leave any negative feedback. Then he says he will send me SOME money. If I do that how will I know he will follow thru? I have contacted my new shipper and she says NO WAY. It's not fair to people reading his feedback who may hire him in the future.

I really thought this man was a really nice guy but he says I am trying to take advantage of him. I am not asking for one dime beyond what I have had to pay due to his mistake.

I don't know what to do. I need this money. If I were rich I would have flown the cat to me. This is why I went thru uship--I'm not rich. Plus this was a rescue cat situation. I was just trying to give an abandoned cat a home. What are my options? I don't even have his address. Any help would be appreciated.

When is this site and its serv. providers going to stop working for free? With an operating cost of 2.20 per mile.. how can anyone move a boat for 2.00 per mile including permits? It seems as if every load I bid someone gets matched for around 1.90 per mile. and then they have to buy permits. does anyone have insurance? Can someone direct me to a site that is dedicated to making a bit of money?

My 1st shipper lost my cat enroute and tells me a litter box is considered special needs. What are shippers expected to know about shipping a cat? Having owned a cat I know that it needs a litterbox in it's cage and you can't walk a cat on a collar--you need a harness. Was I being unreasonable expecting someone who says they transport pet to know this? Thank you.

listing a shipment twice

So today I was looking for a shipment and I came across a hot deal where a 1990 ford needed to be hauled from IA to OK. No problem I placed my bid and went on, to later discover that the guy had the 1990 ford relisted under just "ford" that needs to be hauled from IA to OK.
I don't know about everyone else but I use this site to get jobs lined up for my workers and I don't think we have to be double checking with all of our bids to see if we've already palce a bid with someone that deciede it would be funny to list his shipment twice. What does everyone else think about this issue?

Transporting pets

If someone could be so kind to answer a few questions re:transporting pets. I am interested in leaving my very stable job (nurse) with benefits to venture into something new. My love for animals & desire to be on the move to experience other areas of the U.S. is motivating me. But---can I make a living at this? Can anyone tell me what I would need for licensing, insurance, expenses & any helpful hints? I haven't been able to find many posts re:this. My tentative plans would be to purchase a van which I would sleep in when able & transport no more than 4 pets at a time. Thanks for any helpful info. JJ

Do shipping providers get the "deposit paid to provider" amount that shippers pay to Uship at the time of booking?

Hi, sorry to be asking such an obviously silly question, but here goes: I accepted a bid from a shipping provider and at the time of booking paid $16.99. In my account uship indicated that this is a "deposit
paid to service provider through uship." Clearly to me this means that the money will go to the service provider. However now my service provider is claiming that he doesn't get this money. Can anyone who is actually a service provider and has been through this process comment on who gets the deposit money? I am pretty sure that it's the service provider and not uship as he claims. Can someone confirm? Thank you

Is it even legal to move plants? How do I find a mover for a small tree?

I am planning on moving my studio apartment soon and I know I cannot include my ficus as household moving trucks can't really take plants (I did manage to talk a mover into doing it once but I had to box it and it was a during the fall so it wasn't too hot/cold).

I saw on here however that people are moving pets...do you think there is any chance I could find someone to move a 4ft tall ficus separately from my studio if I boxed it up again? Is it against the law? How would I even post something like that?

It would probably be cheaper to replace it but I have had it for 10 years and it was a gift from a close family member. I am unnaturally attached to, kinda like a pet, and I would be sad if I had to find it another home.

If you are new to uship and can not get any body to use you because of insufficient feedback how are you suppose to get any work. With the way the economy is going right now there are a lot more new people to uship than when I signed up. These guys on uship are willing to bid jobs just to do work you can not survive doing that.

I Know, I talked with a driver at a local truck stop that was headed that way in my town of Gainesville FL. last week, his name was mustgg or something like that. then a few days ago, I saw on the TAMPA news that there are 100 trucks at the place in Plant city. And today I saw them in convoys, 4 or 5 convoys of about 10 each, with escorts headed north on I-75.

Backhauls

There is no such thing as a "BACK-HAUL" everything has a start and stop point, If it needs to be moved then it is a load, period. Insurance, tires, fuel,etc... aren't any cheaper heading towards your home than they are going away. BACKHAUL is BS

Rebate timing

I am moving in July--some people think it's early to be asking for bids, but I need to start getting things squared away now due to work, pets, etc. The rebate offer says that you need to submit a request for a rebate within 60 days of the match. However, if I accept a bid right now, it will be more like 108 days (or so) before I move and my shipment is delivered. So am I not eligible for the rebate because I'm doing things early?

newbie question about jobs

After doing some investigating about becoming a trucker, I decided that it just won't pay to do it myself. But I would be interested in maybe driving a smaller truck for someone else, maybe on a part time basis. Does anyone know if i have to go to a truck driving school if I am only driving smaller trucks i.e, pick-ups. drive aways, panal vans, ect. And where do I look for driving jobs like that, if they even exist? I am just south of Detroit which I have been told is a major trucking area? Thanks for any help.

Frieght Brokerers and Forwarders

I thought it was bad enough that us carriers had to deal with brokers and forwarders in the real trucking world then came uship a site designed for the guy who rarely ships things and wants things shipped at a fair market value, Great site Then come the hagelers FF and Brokers who have no business being here other then that in the real world of trucking they have swindled so many larger companies that they had no where to go and here they dont have to show bonds that support them if they fail to pay a carrier there wage. Uship should be a shame, Its bad enough that the cost of fuel,insurance and maintanence has gone out the roof you allow a broker and frieght forwarder to worm there way into a consumers pocket you have no watch dog who checks the brokers bonds to broker when they are getting thier numbers up a shipper will automaticly go to a higher marked carrier .But the consumer has no idea that they are having these guys bid just to give it to a carrier at a lower cost..its a shame...

Motor Coach and towing

I have been looking around the net for answers and someone pointed me here so I am hoping someone can at least say yea or nea on what I want to do.

First off my motor coach:

Due to its construction I am unable to lengthen the frame of the coach and properly add a deck with akingpin setup which is what I wanted to do until careful examination of the coach's original stretching. What we are looking to do however is to place a pintle hook on the rear of the coach and then a conversion dolly under a 45' wabash trailer thus being able to pull the weight without taking on a large verticle load on the coach itself.

My understanding is my only issue is length as the coach is considered a storage unit. The coach being 22 feet (not including the tractor section) and the trailer 45 makes me 67' + the distance between the coach and trailer. Registering in Montana allows me 75' which should keep me within the legal length.

Anything else I should know or worry about?

i see this truck from rhode island that pulls up to the local "dog boutique" that has a few dozen puppies, caged and covered in feces. she either takes a puppy or denies it and hes off.....
im in california. the truck isnt marked that it has live animals. im not trying to shut her down but i would like her to stop selling these animals. this is such a horrific sight. i cant seem to find what the laws are in transporting these dogs. this cant be legal!
anyones comments ANYTHING would be of great help.
