I delivered a Pit Bull from Tampa to Augusta, GA.  The Pit Bull was considered aggresive by the Tampa Police Department and the owners were told that if the Pit Bull got out again, the home owner (a relative of the owner) would be prosecuted for a felony.  It was imperative that the dog was moved from its Tampa location, so against my better judgement, I carried the dog to Augusta.  I had to pick up another dog and then ran into heavy traffic and stuck behind a massive interstate wreck, so ran behind.  I ended driving through backwoods GA to get the dog delivered.

When I get through delivering the two dogs, I get back online to find the following feedback...

Negative: i waS TOTALLY LET DOWN AND MY DOG WAS STOLEN

This is totally false.  I delivered the dog the next morning to the owner in GA, was paid, and continued my trip with the other dog to NY.  This virtually ends my uShip work.  It is a pure, outright lie, after I bent over backwards to help this guy out of his problem.

If it is not removed, I guess I am done with uShip, as no one will ship there dog/cat with me.  What a joke.  We get feedback which we are judged by, and they get feedback which means nothing.

did you get them to sign a reciept of some sort at delivery? scan into a PDF file and email, or get the fax number for uShip and send it to them to back up your claims before anyone else sees the feedback

Also you do have a chance to offer a rebuttal on your feedback thru your my uship. At least you can say something.

Well, they better be able to remove falacious, libelous entries.  There is a liability issue here, is there not?

I saw that feedback this morning and was pi$$ed because I own two Pitballs and they are so much fun. I was even telling my son who has 3 about this and we both (well lets just say your ears must of been ringing) but once again like the other day a shipper jumps the gun and crys WOLF, because there are always two sides to a story. Like Alex said in the other post do you have a recepit for what they paid you for the dog? I never load anything or drop anything off without a paper trail. In this day and age its CYA "COVER YOUR A$$" If you have it post it so maybe the higher ups will change the feedback or delete it and let them post a new one.

Good Luck

This is a message to all the people that are using this site to ship something

USE A DOT COMPLIANT CARRIER ONLY

Its the Federal Law that anyone that transports ANYTHING for any kind of PAYMENT MUST be a DOT COMPLIANT CARRIER. It doesnt matter if its as small as a BREADBOX or as large as a ARMY TANK the CARRIER NEEDS to be

DOT COMPLIANT

Ask for their INSURANCE COMPANY INFO before your shipment is picked up to protect yourself from loosing your item and call the company to check its a good POLICY, some have been know to make FAKE POLICY PAPERS UP.

For what it's worth, had similar problem with feedback.  Customer paid me, I shook his hand, got home and found a negative feedback with false information in it. I haven't received another bid since. Fortunately, after emailing back and forth for 2 weeks, the shipper changed the wording and the rating to a neutral. I lost alot of money with this, and I may not be doing any more transportation via uShip or anywhere else-what a shame! Drivers need to have these dealt with via uShip before a bad shipper ruins someone's livelyhood!

Well, he had to post the feedback before I dropped the dog off, and he didn't even have the politeness to say he had left the negative feedback, which I could have dealt with.  Nope, I probably will not get any more shipments if they think I'm stealing dogs.

I transported some very expensive dogs (Toy Poodle puppy, Maltese (cutest little lady) puppy) that would have been much more valuable, and they left great feedback, but that's all wiped out by this jerk...knew when I picked up the dog that I was dealing with low class people...should have known better.

If the feedback system is not monitored for correctness, then uShip will have a limited run.

if you have any kind of decent clientel that will give references, why not get your authority and move on over to the legal only boards where we get 99.9% of our freight and not worry about this place that is getting full of headaches?

what can you actually do about bad feedback? nothing! once it is there, only the shipper can change, or uShip delete, both of which i think you would be better off betting on the lottery

Yea, I'm starting to see.  Twice in my short uShip history I've had issues.  The first, I thought uShip was trying to help, but nothing came of their intervention.  This time, I've had no contact from them at all, even though I'm in a position where I really need to pick up a shipment (pet) to make my current trip viable.

This just isn't working.  This lie posted by the shipper has destroyed my ability to find shipments, and there is not one thing I can do about it.  Two days from now, I'll be home and have lost money on the current shipment, which I can not recover.  Had they intervened today (Monday), I might have been able to salvage the trip.

If they are going to ignore problems such as these, then I'm not going to make them any more $$, and I will never again suggest uShip to anyone, as only the new people who haven't been stung will be available to ship their items.  In the case of pets, a new shipper who doesn't care about animals could easily result in a very difficult situation for uShip.  Had this dog been truly 'stolen' or even die enroute from mal-treatment, then I would think there would be serious implications.

When I posted this, I thought uShip would show interest in insuring truth in feedback, but obviously I was mistaken.

When I decided to become a software engineer, I did it the 'right' way, going back to school and completing a BS in Computer Science.  Now, as foreign workers are preferred over US workers in our own country, I am in big trouble, as I can not repay the debt incurred for the degree, much less make up for lost wages while returning to school.  We now advise the youth against the pursuit of engineering, mathematics, and science educations, as they can not compete with low wage workers from around the world who are willing to work at slave rates, and there is an endless supply.

Those of you who do this the 'right' way, including purchase of equipment, insurance, business license, shipping license, etc, before 'testing the waters' must be truly hurting.  uShip offers a marketplace to link shippers (uShip actually misuses the term) with shipments, but without an assurance of honesty in reporting (feedback), it is only an illusion.  Personally, I'm glad I didn't do it the 'right' way, as I could not afford another career financial disaster.

Good luck to all of you 'service providers'.  My sympathies are certainly with you.  Rick

Update: email from Pit Bull owner...

i left tha feedback after i was not able to get in contact with you and before i arrived at my house i tried to override tha comment but it would not let me and i dont kno any other way 2 change it

So, obviously the owner can not change his/her feedback, or if he/she can, it is very difficult.  I'm stuck with the tag "Dog Stealer".  Way to go uShip.

Oh, the reason he could not contact me was my cell phone had gone to "No Service", as I was in the middle of backwoods GA late, late at night.
