The ability to leave non-biased feedback is one of the critical pieces of the uShip marketplace. In order to maintain the integrity of the uShip marketplace, uShip must remain neutral in so far as our ability to edit feedback. In an instance where someone has left a negative feedback in error, we will contact this individual to confirm this and allow them to change it so as not to wrongfully harm the reputation of the other member in the transaction. We will NOT change any feedback because someone doesn't like it or believes it is a misrepresentation of what happened. Each member has the opportunity to a) leave feedback for the other party in the transaction and tell their impression of what happened and b) leave a response to dispute the claim/reason for the negative feedback which is placed directly below the feedback comments on your profile. We have seen, as a best practice, to leave a very measured and factual response to a negative feedback -- if you have many other positives, this one negative will be easily balanced out by your telling of what happened. Overall, feedback is over 96% positive marketplace wide so, for the most part, there are not many instances of negative experience, but they do happen.

As for this situation, as the previous posts suggest, contact support@uShip.com and we will contact the shipper to confirm they want to remove the feedback because it was posted in error. We CAN NOT remove the negative feedback until we have had a one on one confirmation from the other party. Any request to have a feedback removed because you simply don't like it will be denied.

But a deliberate, malicious attack should be viewed as just that and be monitored and controlled as well. You know what I am talking about. THAT undermines the integrity of the feedback concept and doesn't portray the actual accounts or experiences. I'm not being arguementative here but when a customer views mine does it actually portray an actual experience???? You know the story. How fair is that? How can a prospective customer believe that or any feedback if they knew the whole story? THAT is what I am bringing into question here(and trust me alot of people know the real story). How can the feedback system be trusted after that??

It was NOT the negative feedback that bothered me, it was the fact that I was accused of stealing the dog (the shipment) when I delivered it.  The information was not 'believed' to be false, it WAS FALSE.

Integrity requires truth.  Without truth, then there can be no integrity in your system.  What is needed is a method of dispute, where the truth can be validated before a person's reputation is questioned, a method where disputed feedback can be put into 'limbo' where no damage is done until the truth can be ascertained.  If the accusation is verified, then by all means, post it, but if it is false, to post it is the same as libel, is it not?

Libel (American Heritage Dictionary): A false publication, as in writing, print, signs, or pictures, that damages a person's reputation.

In this case, the negative isn't hurting me, it's the 'lie' that I stole a dog that is at this very moment, costing me income.  That is real.

I agree and I'll go to my grave proving my case, clearing my name and not being called a crook!

Update:

The owner of the dog agreed that the dog was delivered.  The feedback was removed and he now has the opportunity to put in a new feedback.  If he doesn't think the delivery was good and post a negative, I can live with that, as it is his opinion, but at least now I can place bids without 'shippers' thinking I am going to steal their pet.

Thanks uShip.

Rick

Yep, I was lucky, as I trusted people.  I've never requested a signed receipt on delivery, but from now on I certainly will.  All of the people I have worked with have been great.  One delivery I was asked in, fed breakfast, given a bed to grab some sleep on (with a wad of cash on the dresser), and introduced to family and friends as a saint.  This last delivery, to a home with one female in NY(who had a neighbor and her sons at the house when I delivered the dog in case I was 'weird'), who shared a big bottle of wine with me (after the neighbor had left), gave me a great evening of conversation, and a couch to sleep on for the evening (just the two of us there - really amazing for a southern guy who has thought of northerners as, 'er, non-southern to put it nicely).

I have been like family for most of my customers, after delivering their pet with care and concern.  Except for this incident, I have had zero problems with clients, but I guess I have to cover myself...sad.

you stood your ground and proved your side, good job. you can overcome a negative feedback on that load, but, being accuse of theft is another matter

maybe if the system would let a neutral or positive rating be posted right away, but, withhold a negative and ask both parties to communicate with uShip with the details before posting to the public? with a little more care, maybe things like this would not have to happen

I never had a lick of problem either until my little mishap the everyone took the ball and ran with it. Of course if the recent ones were contacted they would definately state they regret jumping the gun but again uship claimed they couldn't remove the feedback so now I'm stuck with it hence my end to bidding on this site. I always save reciepts and everything for everything and provided them. My case was proven but I'm still stuck with the feedback. That's why I'm making such a big deal about it. I always ran into very nice people on my runs. In every part of the country I've been to I have always been treated nice. The driving in the northeast really bites but the people I delivered to were awesome!
