U-Ship Team, Thanks for building this site and all the effort it must take to make programs work efficiently. One thought as reading this after updating my rates page after the last 2 hauls completed I have a suggestion for a missing item. This came about after delivering vehicles and tolls reducing the value heavily I thought I would suggest buttons to "include tolls" or "not including tolls". Most recent hire was for $192 approximately costing $37.50 in tolls on top of $130 in fuel, took half a day to deliver. You can figure the profit and loss on this job and due to guidelines I stuck to my quotes, and did what I offered without a return on it when considering to deadhead home I put about 400 miles on a medium duty hauler/trailer. Another thought for transporting is in order to transport cars minimum insurance guidelines for towing are in place, and some I can see here as "shippers" utilize pickups not bearing DOT#'s which poses a legality of what they are doing as a business. Upon acquiring a hauler last year a NYSDOT officer pointed out commercial use vehicles must bear these if for hire. Was immediately corrected of course. On here all vehicles utilized are "for hire". By utilizing regular pickups they create an unfair cost advantage and make truckers look as though they are gouging customers in order to keep legal. Just some thoughts as I enjoy the ability to find added shipments but, have found pricing/bids to be so low I can't imagine turning a profit in this way.
Suggestions:
EIN# required to run any business for hire
TIN#for the state/area they are based in as sale occurs at the desk of an individual. Internet sales still require sales tax to be paid and shippers seem to disregard this. Another legality issue.
Tolls button on pricing page included/or not
DOT# required in order to provide customers legal transporters for hire
This also is following reading other shippers comments relating to damages and recouping.

Thanks, Ethan EAS-E Auto

I also agree locking down prices is just not possible for a large or small transportation company these days

Your complaining about prices and being legal to operate. Tolls are part of the game, that should be included in the bid. As for working for non profit, let them go out of business for taking the cheap stuff.

Also, I notice you dont have a MC #. Any thoughts on where that might be???? This site is a nuetral venue, they dont make the prices. Its the carrier who underbids.

Theyre is more websites where ONLY legal carriers are allowed, maybe you should try those sites if this site isnt working for you. Best of luck.

THE MOST IMPORTANT PROBLEM TO FIX: UNCOMPLIANT CARRIERS

What Uship needs to do is start screening the carriers. This site is full of so called carriers that don't have MC, DOT #'s or insurance. Maybe I'm an idiot or something but does'nt the DOT require you to have these to be a legal carrier? Try going thru the scale house without this stuff and see what happens.

If Uship would screen carriers to make sure they are legal it would put more money in their pocket and more money in ours. Like I've been told before you can't compete with stupid(uncompliant carrier).

I'm not trying to be mister negative against uship. This site could be a decent place for carriers and shippers to conduct business together but not when you are trying to compete with uncompliant carriers and the shippers don't know any better.
