| Listings go on forever with no responses to questions posed, no recognition of bids placed or any other form of common courtesy. It seems to me that Uship does a disservice to the shippers by not mandating listers to log into their accounts at least every two days. Now how inconvenient could that possibly be for the shipper? Then at least the service provider could tell the account was alive and well!

| I Agree with you backhauler. I feel that the shipper should have a limited amount of time to find or accept a bid. A shipper should have to place a refundable deposit up front. When they accept a bid it is retuened to them. If they do not accept a bid with in the time frame the loose the deposit and the lost deposit goes to a FUND that lowers the fees for the TSP'ers. This will stop the kids and the people that need their ego's stroked from getting on here and playing games with peolpe that are trying to provide a service to the true shippers. I wish Uship would look at this. I get sick of working out bid details and communicating (some times days going back and forth) with someone who is playing games.

| You might as well forget about USHIP charging anyone for anything to list a shipment, ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. What they should do is give a time frame though as to how long a listing can go unanswered, I have had SHIPPERS write back to me and say OK PLACE YOUR BID on something I asked a question about 2 weeks eariler, when I told them I wasnt in the area any longer they couldnt understand why I just cant go back for it. They have no idea that we just dont sit in one area for weeks on end and wait for them to make up there minds, plus they are playing the waiting game to see how low the bid will go. SO if you see a listing that is a few days old with NO ACTIVITY from the SHIPPER "FLAG IT AS INACTIVE" and then uship will ask them if its still a active listing or not and THEN MAYBE they will answer the questions. REMEMBER USHIPS MOTTO "YOU CAN LIST YOUR ITEMS FOR FREEEEEEE"
This is a message to all the people that are using this site to ship something USE A DOT COMPLIANT CARRIER ONLY Its the Federal Law that anyone that transports ANYTHING for any kind of PAYMENT be a DOT COMPLIANT CARRIER. It doesnt matter if its as small as a BREADBOX or as large as a ARMY TANK the CARRIER NEEDS to be DOT COMPLIANT Ask for their INSURANCE COMPANY INFO before your shipment is picked up to protect yourself from loosing your item. I am now just using this site for ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSED ONLY and will not bid on or take a shipment from this site

| Well, I am new to this site/service. And I am trying to understand how to do business. On-topic, I was hesitant to answer questions right away, for not understanding - questions vs bids...? I have a motorcycle listed. Save for one response which came so quick it seemed to be automatic-software-enabled and priced so high and with unattractive feedback I would never use them; I have no bids but some 'questions'. What is supposed to happen next, I am not going to discuss specific business details via public posting, is there some point at which there is direct communications made available ?? Thanks in advance. I deal in old motorcycles now, but before some health situations arose I drove over-the-road and locally for 15 years, so I do understand some of the haulers' issues.

The Q&A is the only medium for discussing your shipment needs until a bid is accepted. Once you accept a bid and pay the "deposit" you will be given contact information, until then contact info is forbidden as UShip does have to make money somehow... But we are not allowed to discuss where that money comes from... If you happen to think of another way to look up service providers and find their contact info, well then, that would be another story, wouldn't it!

I am glad for the feedback system and the forums though, that makes the difference & stopped me from just "exiting stage left"....

KineticHotShot (2/6/2008) I see you have a bid from Jack Indian! Good guy, fully compliant, I would recommend him! Laterz, Gator >|--|~I totally agree with Gator..........you will not find a better motor cycle transporter than Jack (Indian) and I know him personally. He is fully insured with commercial cargo insurance and is completely US DOT legal and compliant. He has all the equipment to load and secure them properly and hauls everything inside a black enclosed trailer. Another plus is that he is also a biker and knows how to handle and treat yours. Don

Don Yeah, well, I was planning to, since he was the most responsive and had the best feedback. Then he put in a bid with a 2-day window but cancelled it in less than 24 hours, before I could accept. I appreciate y'all's input and insight, surely you can understand the caution of someone new to this site, not understanding if accepting a bid is the same as hitting the ebay buy-it-now button, or just what.... Good luck & travel safely.
