i have asked if he has a trailer specifically  set up to secure boats already on trailers (with a trailer ball post in towing trailer to secure boat on existing trailer while on shippers flatbead trailer.

i do not get a specific yes he has that equipment answer (that set up is the ONLY way my boat on a trailer is going cross country on top of another flat trailer).

also as to loading when i asked about loading procedure.

NO specific answer only "i think i can handle it".

this is a irreplacible clooector item. i am not confident with these answers. feedback good and seems like a decent guy.

if i accept bid just to be able to talk more specifically on phone and i do not want to precede using his services.

do i get my deposit refunded and how.

any help greatly appreciated

You may or may not get the deposit refunded, it's all up to uShip. It also may not be fair to the provider, so don't accept a bid until you're certain you want to use them. You might want to keep your options open until you find a provider you feel comfortable with.

Just some advice, if this really is a collector's item, then you'll want to make sure that the person you choose to transport your boat has active DOT/MC authority. Ask them for their DOT and MC numbers and check them at: www.safersys.org/companysnapshot.aspx. You look under "licensing and insurance" and it will tell you if they have ACTIVE authority and what their insurance coverage is. No matter what anyone tells you, if they do not have these numbers listed as ACTIVE, your boat will not be insured If they cannot/will not produce these numbers, I advise you to wait until you find a provider who can. The cheapest bid is not always the best, especially when it comes to expensive items. Hope this helps you!

Rayson, I looked at your listing, and I applaud you for standing your ground! Most compliant haulers will have their DOT and MC numbers posted in their profile. If you click on their user name you can see the numbers and then check them at the Safer site I mentioned before. But, again, just because their numbers show up doesn't mean they are in compliance. When you go to the safer site and their info comes up, scroll to the bottom of the page and it will say what kind of cargo they are authorized for. Make sure that it says "boats" somewhere on there. Then, check Licensing and Insurance, and make sure it says their authority is ACTIVE, not Pending, not Revoked. And then at the bottom of THAT page, it will have their Cargo and Liability coverages, as well as the names of their insurance companies.

Way to go in doing your research!

I do have to ask this question if you dont mind, WHY is it that this is the ONLY way your boat is going to be TRANSPORTED? I was just wondering because I have transported about 5 boats inside my enclosed trailer without the setup you are talking about without any problems what so ever. Is there something I am missing here? Just dont say its so the boat wont sway back and forth with the motion of the trailer when starting & stopping is the reason because if it is that doesnt even happen then you strap a boat to the trailer floor.

Thanks

This is a BIG problem with u ship had the same thing happen to me but i am the hauler, they accepted the bid then changed their mind about the dates USHIP granted the cancellation and now i have a blemish and did nothing wrong Uship should allow telephone #s so that people shipping can have there questions answered I think uship feels they will loose the almighty $$$$$$$$$$$ they are not giving the level of service that should be provided being able to contact the hauler before bid is accepted would solve alot of problems EBAY DOES!!! Maybe i'll get a site going and allow contact hummm?

they were happy to take the $20 deposit. I received bids and I accepted...no response. So I accepted another bid...and I have not heard anything. I find all this scamming and unreliable.

Please explain a few things to me (and others). How did you accept a bid and show no matches in your profile? Who did you make this so-called $20 deposit to that they were happy to take? And how could you accept another bid without it and a cancellation showing in your profile?....................... Inquiring minds would like to know..............................?????????
