Hi there,

I was wondering if someone in here can help me to find out more info about a trucking company? My 80 year old mom is moving from California to Tennessee the end of March and we have been trying to find a reliable/trustworthy mover. We think we have found 1 but I need to make sure so I came here for advice.

The name of the moving company is called Golden West Moving,Inc. and there DOT# 771227 and MC#345915. If anyone can help me or give me any advice its all apprceciated.

Thanks

Based out of Huntington Beach, Ca. Licensed and insured with active HHG authority thru transguard insurance of America. License and insurance is active, but you might want to check the BetterBusinessBureau. Just ask for a cert of insurance in your name before any money is exchanged. Make sure it is a binding all inclusive bid and stay away from the per pound bid.

Compliant because I have to be

HHG movers are required by law to provide you with a copy of Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move. I suggest going to the following link, download the pdf version of this book and read it. It was designed by the USDOT and FMCSA to protect you, the shipper.

http://www.protectyourmove.gov/consumer/awareness/rights/rights.htm

Under the main heading will be a small box on the right with the gray heading Related Links, download the pdf file there. The book explains the different types of quotes, insurance and what the carrier should do at loading and unloading. Hope this helps and good luck on the move.
