I went and checked his profile and he does not have any dot# listed and no mc# listed did you leave him the last negative and I will assume you payed him upfront! This has become a daily accurance and you should really have read the uship user agreement as this would have eleviated some of the heartache that you are going threw I would call the authorities in his home town and report this as he does not have authority to haul anything as far as I can see write to Heather @ uship and tell her your problem did this person pickup at storage unit if so did they make him show them his license I feel for you but sippers really need to spend a little more time before they accept bids spend a lile more time reading forums and become a aware of all the ramifications of using a non compliant shipper besides the fact that it is Illegal to do so!good luck and I hope you get it all back undamaged of course!!!!

| I agree with you completely. I'll tell you, that he didn't have any negative feedback when he took my furniture. All of that came since my furniture left my house. He picked the furniture up at my house, but can you explain what you meant when you said that he was transporting illegally? I already contacted his local police, and I contacted uship. I want to have as strong of a case against him as possible, if this needs to go further. Can you suggest a carrier for my move?

the other post will say that it is only of use if he had mc# and dot# they will not be able to do much if he did not he did not so your case is very limited as to what the authorities can and will do when you move houshold goods you must be bonded and Ins.there is a web site safersys.org where you may go and check any bodies dot# and Mc# you will be able to check for ins. and it gives you there address and telkephone this is why you never hire someone without these and that is why they give rafrence to this in the uship user agreement.they will let any body on here and they do not have to proove a thing this has been mine as well as many others fight with the powers to be .did you write heather a@ uship express all this to her maybe she can give you his cc info and address that he has on file.

| I asked him if he was insured before I took his bid and he said yes. I still have the question in the memory section of the auction. Doesn't that count for anything?

| Also, he won't give my money back until he drops off the furniture. What possible reason could there be to hold on to both?

One possibility... ..although not a pleasant thought, is that he may have spent your deposit. Another is that.....and we surely hope this isn't the reason....he plans to steal your deposit. Unfortunately, the latter seems more likely based on a quick review of his recent performance and record.Good luck...but I wouldn't recommend stopping the legal action just yet. Also, don't leave feedback until this is settled. The reason for that is if you leave feedback it will be more difficult to get the uShip prepaid fee/deposit back from uShip when you cancel........don't leave feedback if you are planning to request a cancellation. Don.........

gpohl (5/7/2008) Should I wait until saturday before contacting the police again, or should I contact them today?I don't know enough details and the time line to comment on when you should request (or re-request) police intervention. That would be a judgment call on your part. I might suggest that you contact him one more time via phone or email if possible and advise him of your intentions. However, based on the recent number of cancellations and negative feedback, I'd have my doubts that he has any intention of completing the contract. And unfortunately, I have even more serious reservations that you'll ever again see your deposit paid directly to the shipper. I sincerely wish you the best of luck, but the guy doesn't admit any fault with any of his many other dissatisfied customers he's screwed over lately. It appears he's an unscrupulous bum and these kinds of disputes are extremely difficult to resolve since the police don't have a lot of enthusiasm when it comes to enforcing a potentially illegal contract to start. I would suggest you alert uShip management by emailing directly to mickey@uship.com and heather@uship.com so they can take appropriate action and suspend him immediately. It may not help you, but it might preclude some other unfortunate shipper from getting the same kind of mistreatment. Don.........
