Re: AP Moving Services
Name: Patrick Smith

Patrick Smith showed up at my house a couple of months ago and I gave him 700 dollars to get the
rest of the contents of a storage locker up in Illinois . After the usual runaround I finally got him to promise that he would return my 700 dollars. Due to privacy issues I feel reticent about filing a complaint with the Hollywood Florida Police department . I also was harassed over the phone by an
individual who is a listed carrier here on Uship . Iron Horse Expeditors of Plainfield Illinois did deliver a load as promised but did not complete the entire shipment . After several phone calls from Ironhorse promising me they would pick up and deliver the balance of my shipment for free, I requested the caller put me on the do not call list. I also received harassing emails from Ironhorse requesting that I remove my negative feedback about him . Ironhorse Expeditors originally subcontracted my shipment to APMoving Services. APMoving Services could not load the shipment
because their truck was already partially filled .
I have been an EBAY Seller since 1998 and absolutely demand that EBAY pursue each and every one of the fraudulent transactions on this website immediately.
It gives EBAY a bad name and will eventually attract so much bad publicity that the entire concept will be taxed or regulated or shutdown.
Keep ignoring everyones' complaints here and the entire USHIP site will be shutdown and the owners of the site will be liable....

My objectives are simple ...
1. The return of my funds if possible without the threat of arrest.
2. The cessation of fraudulent business practices by this individual .

I am in the same boat as you. AP Moving picked up shipment from my mother's house in Sarasota. It was to arrive to me in Virginia within the week. That was 2 months ago. I paid Patrick Smith $500 through PayPal upfront. I have called repeatedly, left messages, asked for honesty. When I do get Patrick Smith on the phone, he tells me that the stuff is on its way and will be here in a few days...this has gone on for 2 months. I am getting a bit desperate and just about ready to call the police. This is a really bad reflection on eBay and they should monitor fraudulent carriers.

I just want my stuff and would prefer not to have to bring in authorities, but I am at my wit's end.

Belisco, I'm afraid to say that you're stuff will not be joining you in Virginia. Patrick will instead charge you gas money to bring your things back to where he picked them up in Florida. I've spoken with Mike in the past, and so we have already exchanged horror stories. Patrick has $800 of my money, and I will be damned if he gets to enjoy that money while I have to live without it. I know everyone wants to avoid contacting the authorities, but this guy is not a man of his word, and in my mind that makes him not a man. We need to rally and file a joint complaint, because there is no way that he is going to be giving us our money back. He sets deadlines and doesn't meet them. He makes promises and doesn't keep them. He says he has no money, but he is holding our hard earned dollars. His family should not get to sleep on the bed I provided for them. This needs to end and it needs to end now.

I just got him on the phone and he said, "what, your stuff has not been delivered? Give me 10 minutes and if you don't hear from me, call me back." Then he hung up. I am more than willing to rally and get people together to file a joint complaint. He has thousands of dollars of my furniture and one of his family members is probably enjoying my bed right now as well. How do we best proceed? I know he is based in Miami/Dade County. Can the authorities there help?

He gave me the "ten minute" quote, too. I contacted the Hollywood PD and they were helpful, but not overly interested to get moving. Lets do some research and see where our legal options lay. Also, lets contact Heather Hoover with Uship and see if she has any recommendations.

Just to maybe help you people out I know the name and PHONE NUMBER of a DOT OFFICER that is working on catching a few NON COMPLIANT TRANSPORTERS that are working out of Florida. He lives in Florida and is very interested in people without DOT AUTHORITY. I cant post his name or number here so its up to you to find me.

This is a message to all the people that are using this site to ship something

USE A DOT COMPLIANT CARRIER ONLY

Its the Federal Law that anyone that transports ANYTHING for any kind of PAYMENT be a DOT COMPLIANT CARRIER. It doesnt matter if its as small as a BREADBOX or as large as a ARMY TANK the CARRIER NEEDS to be

DOT COMPLIANT

Ask for their INSURANCE COMPANY INFO before your shipment is picked up to protect yourself from loosing your item.

I am now just using this site for ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSED ONLY and will not bid on or take a shipment from this site

Does he still have your things? If so, I am unclear as to why the police are not more inclined to help us as he is comitting a felony. Did you try contacting Heather Hoover? I am planning to call Hollywood PD today as well. Perhaps if they have enough on the guy, they'll get moving on it. Do you know with whom you spoke?
