| Just for the heck of it, let's pretend there are three categories of TSPs that utilize uShip. How about your own personal definition of each: Compliant Carrier..... Non-Compliant Carrier...... Illegal Transporter..... Anyone up for the discussion? ....Don.....

I am game here.........
Compliant Carrier.. Completely legal, permits, logs, insurance, annual inspections, the whole 9 yards.
Non - Compliant Carrier... Legal with numbers, but cheating logs, skipping inspections, hauling out of class..
Illegal Transporter.. " Hey! I have a pickup and lots of time, because I have been fired from my other jobs because I didn't play by the rules. I think I will start a company that an run downs down the road without insurance and cross my fingers that nothing happens some I can make the big money.. To hell with all those laws..they are just for semi trucks anyway!
How did I do Don!

| Erik... That's almost identical to the way I see it. The "Compliant" is exactly as I would define it, hauling commodities within their active authority. The "Illegal" is also exactly the way I would say it. He ain't got a clue or don't care about authority, insurance, FMCSA regulations, or any thing else concerning the legal aspects. He loads and delivers...they pay....all is well until the SHTF with an accident of damage claim....or impoundment of the shipment...etc. My definition of the non-compliant would have some very slight variations, but not many. I would also add that it was a carrier whose numbers were not active (ME)... and the other myriad of things that may have caused that.... i.e. Out of Service....driver or truck or company; insurance lapse;... and on & on. But there is very little difference in the way we're thinking. Now let's see what others have to say since they've been given a model answer to use. Come on guys (and gals) Let's hear it from you too! Don...

Non-Compliant Carrier...... Illegal Transporter..... Anyone up for the discussion? ....Don..... I am all about this discussion as non compliant and Illegal are pretty much the same as it is Illegal to haul across state line's without meeting your financial requirements for what ever class you are hauling and If you do not have dot# and mc#!The reality of this is this country and the internet have chosen to protect these criminal's and hammer the one's that are at least trying to be compliant!the one's that ammuse me are the one's that say they have a commercial driver,s license in there profile do these people know the penalty for transporting for hire with a cdl across state line's without the authority to do so for the uninformed it is possible loss of cdl for life. You can lose your regular license on the first offense for sometime and as we all know jail time! But what we have left out is the noncompliant frieght forwarder or otherwise known as broker, broker's have been stealing from the industry since there conception!I have been losing work to Illegal,s since the age of 18 and our government has done nothing about it for so long that it is like beating a dead horse! Our government has been stealing money from the legal citizen's of this country for so long that the only free place is in international water, where you are the captian of your ship and you are the judge the jury and you carry out the sentence that you impose upon the criminal!I have enjoyed this conversation immensly but on the other hand it is definitly wasted time and effort!Retirement is right around the corner for me and when that day comes I will be in international water's and touring the globe!I will watch this country go down the tube from a far!my vote is in to rid this country of illegals! adios amigos!
Fearless Enterprise's U.S.A. MC#604640 PLEASE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY AND PEACE OF MIND USE A COMPLIANT HAULER !!!!

Wooe there Tonto, and park that horse. You go out in international water's touring the world and you might not come back. There are many pirates working the WATERS TODAY AND YOU WILL BE ROBBED AND MAYBE KILLED. Better stick with Uship and fight off the illegals by bidding lower and starving them out. Than trying to fight of a boat load of Pirates. Which are retired Uship illegals by the way. bumpus

| Scenario..... I have active US DOT and MC# with authority to transport general freight interstate. All my filings with FMCSA are current including MCS-9X (required insurance), process servers, etc. My load is well under the tagged limit for the truck & trailer and the recommended GVWR/CGVWR. I'm hauling a perishable load, lettuce that pays a bonus for early delivery and has a penalty for late delivery. The load is secured properly and meets the requirements of the Driver's Handbook for Load Securement. I'm traveling across I-64 in KY at the speed limit at 4:00 am in the dark. Unknown to me, I have two burned out running lights on the rear that have failed since I started driving at noon yesterday. I pull through the open coop and the inoperative lights are spotted so I'm told to pull to the side and come in with my paperwork. It is a little stressful, because my log book entries are behind for the last several meal & fuel stops. Question.......Would you classify me as Compliant, Non-Compliant, or Illegal? In your opinion, what do you think they'll do to me? Don

| Weeeeeeell, they might just add a few ingredients to the load on your trailer and turn it into a meal set for a King! You know, a large salad bowl, if you will. Allow you to watch. Then send you on your way when they finish?
!!Protect yourself and your property!! Did you acquire and VERIFY the validity of your chosen Carrier's FEDERALLY MANDATED DOT & MC #'s as per the UShip User Agreement? http://www.uship.com/user_agreement.aspxNote: Did you know that NO active "MC #" = No COMMERCIAL insurance? OOPS !!!!!!! INTERSTATE" transport requires an ACTIVE "MC" number! You verify it at the Government's "REAL TIME" web site: http://li-public.fmcsa.dot.gov/LIVIEW/pkg_html.prc_limain Still don't understand? Read this: http://forums.uship.com/Topic46915-14-1.aspx

| Does everyone else agree with Bumpus that I would be classified as an "Illegal"? BTW Bumpus, what do you think they'd do to me? So far, I'm violating the HOS regulations....Did you notice anything other discrepancies in the scenario given? Don
