why are there so many dummies hauling for less than a buck a mile? fuel is $5.00 a gallon, oil is $10.00 a gallon, tires etc! Are you all that damn dum? Or are you illiterate and can't figure the cost of doing bussiness? Why do you care? They're not competing with you since you're a registrant and can't haul anything interstate legally. I buy and sell old tractors and parts for myself and try to help others get there parts and tractors and sometime need to haul for others to help pay the bills, But I do know I need at least a buck a mile to break even! I am applying for my auth and with what i have been quoted for ins I just don't see how or why you guys give such low-ball bids! Everybody can make some money if everybody would just set a standard of $1.00 min! DO you read? Read the american trucker, 930 trucking co have gone out of bussiness since the first of the year and these are all co with more than 50 trucks! The last report was JEVIC a good size outfit! what do you have against makeing a profit?

DURATRANS (7/18/2008) Come on FEARLESS give the guy a BREAK he states in his profile he is applying for his MC AUTHORITY, but I wonder if he knows the REGISTRANT AUTHORITY means he cant do anything off this site. But its OK with the BS in his profile he will get all the work, just you wait and see how many of them 120,000lb loads show up on this site. Gee that brings back memories, I use to haul CONCRETE BRIDGE BEAMS 90 foot long and over 100,000lbs out of Tenn so do you think if I put that in my profile I can get all the work also?OH WELL WHO CARE people do it all the time anyway so I say "GO FOR IT" hehehehehehehehehe I buy and sell old tractors and parts for myself and try to help others get there parts and tractors and sometime need to haul for others to help pay the bills, But I do know I need at least a buck a mile to break even! It is pretty difficult to determine what someone is hauling for on uShip. As Jack said, there are many that can combine several $0.55 per mile shipments on the same route and end up actually making well over your "standard" $1.00 per mile. There are a lot of variables involved such as what kind of equipment you're using; where you're running; how far you're willing to haul; and on & on. To arbitrarily say that everyone should stick to some notion that $1.00 is some standard, simply demonstrates a complete lack of knowledge of the motor carrier business. Your examples of JEVIC and many others going under doesn't really have much relevance to most of the TSPs on uShip. No more than Delta Air Lines and the other air passenger and freight companies and their problems. One size doesn't fit all and if it is already ruined by people like me, why would some rookie want to jump in to it?

bpitrk (7/18/2008) It's people like you that have ruined the trucking ind! There is nothing wrong with the trucking industry. The is just a part of the trucking business you do not understand how to work and make profit. If there is no hope what are you doing here. So you call every one here dummies. If we are ALL DUMMMIES what does that make you for talking to people who don't know anything but can make a living at it while you can't. Now who's the really dummy anyway ? ? ? Go back the type of trucking where you could not make it, and try to straighten it up because we can't help you according to your description of us. Your the know it all asking us dummies for advice. ... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You say" " It's people like you that have ruined the trucking ind " But it's people like you who will never help it any either. Post a bid and go to hauling bpitrk, and show us dummies how it is done ! ! ! bumpus
