| Thanks, Don. I don't take offense - that is why I was asking for advice. Hopefully, you won't mind if I explain myself a little. I did send a bid request to Eric I didn't think about the boxes. I was just kind of thinking if I threw some boxes in the car, that would be a few less boxes to deal with. However, it makes perfect sense that not everyone is trustworthy and shippers need to be careful. I will take the description off, didn't mean to sound like I was asking for sympathy. I was trying to describe who we were and why we were using Uship. Definetly don't want to come across as someone that can't afford the move. I did look at renting a trailer to tow one of the cars, but I was told neither car wa able to pull the other one that distance. Thanks for all of your suggestions. Next time - I'll get this right from the start. And your right - I didn't know that Uship got a huge chunk from the bid.

| Hey, I have a sip it now for the avalon at 910.00 and the honda at 1,035. The company is DAS Auto Shippers. Do you know about them? I able to get the lower price because I can do terminal to terminal instead of door to door. I can see that they are compliant and positive feedback, but thought you might know more. I'm not just looking for the lowest price. I want to ship with someone who is compliant and good, for my own safety and to give my buisness to people who spent the time and money to become compliant and good. You know what I mean?

They need an edit button for the posts, so I can fix all of my typos! to Should have previewed Sorry, I should have explained the above was an example. When you're viewing a listing as if you were a TSP, you can go to the bottom of the listing and find an "Amount to Me" calculator. From there you can determine exactly the amount the TSP will receive. The difference is what your credit card will be charged as a deposit. That amount is not paid to the TSP in the end, although uShip does some kind of crediting to our accounts (supposedly) and then takes it for uShip's service fee. Below should link you to uShip's calculator, should you want to analyze each bid. http://www.uship.com/popups/bidCalc.aspx?c=txtTotalBid&isSingle=False&commodityID=79 Again, I wish you a safe and successful move to the land of the beautiful pecan trees........... ...Don

| Cool - thanks for sharing the calculator! Oh - and I'm actually moving to North Carolina. Just got to drop by and see family first in Georgia. That is where I am originally from. Uncle is at the base there in Warner Robins. (He's been in Korea and finally home for a little while)

I'm not just looking for the lowest price. I want to ship with someone who is compliant and good, for my own safety and to give my buisness to people who spent the time and money to become compliant and good. You know what I mean? They are one of the largest auto transporters in the country. They use a multitude of different transporters. Your cars will likely be on a 10 car hauler. Top deck costs more with most companies. Bottom deck can result in oil and fluid leaks on your car from the ones above. It is definitely not a good idea to ship a convertible on the bottom deck. Terminal to Terminal is normally the least expensive, but make sure how far away the terminals are from you. You may have to pick it up in Atlanta, but if that's okay it will be more economical. One issue with the large companies is that frequently the vehicles are shuffled from truck to truck and driver to driver before finally arriving at the destination. This can happen multiple times and obviously increases the risk for damage. Another problem that can be associated with that shuffling of the car is if there is damage, it may be more difficult to get paid. (I didn't do it...it was that way when I got it) Watch out for a large number of cancellations too. If they can't find a hauler, they may take a long time to deliver or even cancel. There can also be hidden costs.....for example, inop fees if one of the cars doesn't start.... ...Truck and driver wait fees if the cars aren't available at the contracted time. The latter usually isn't an issue with terminal to terminal, but could be. I'm sure you get the idea Just make sure every thing and every charge is in your contract. Good luck again...// Don

I can't seem to get this on the posted on the correct comment you made, but you mentioned you're actually moving to North Carolina. That is where Eric (Hot Shot Transportation) is based and lives when he isn't on the road. Around Jacksonville.... I think. He tranports cars on a 3 car wedge car hauler with a single deck and they won't be shuffled You might want to talk to him......
