OK...After doing lots of reading i think i see whats going on....thanks for all the tips and help...But just like most internet forum sites some people really need to get a life...lol..to funny!

SOMA: There are some good people on here that will do a great job legal or not. You just need to be real careful is all anyone is saying, A legal transporter may not be honest but you at least have verified information. Some people are pretty shady and only looking to take advantage. Uship stories do not include negatives, only positives get on there, you need to look deeper like you already have to see the seedy side! If I were you I would go with one of the guys your talking to on this forum. They have been around awile, work together, and will treat you right. Soma let me see if I can answer some of your answers, Is there a lot of FAKE people on this site answer is "NO" they are real but are they LEGAL to TRANSPORT your TRAILER "NO" Unless they have a VALID DOT & MC NUMBER. As someone already said USHIP only posts the good STORIES NOT THE BAD ONES. Is there A LOT guys out there that do this without the DOT & MC NUMBERS "YES" and if they get caught doing so the truck & trailer they are driving at the time become IMPOUNDED and so does EVERYTHING ELSE that is in the trailer and YOU might not get your stuff back. Does it cost for those numbers? YES it does $300.00 for the MC Number the DOT Number is FREE BUT here is the REASON NOT EVERYONE wants to do this LEGAL, for those NUMBERS TO BECOME ACTIVE with the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT and BECOME A LEGAL CARRIER the INSURANCE cost UPWARDS of $10,000.00 per year (mine costs me $10600.00 per year) Then you have to have & follow the FMCSA GUIDE LINES of driving only so many hours a day,have safety Inspections on a regular basis and a lot of other stuff, so they dont do this so they can bid cheaper because they dont have the big INSURANCE BILL and also 99.99% of them NEVER CLAIM the money they make off of this site to the IRS, Us Legal Carriers have to report it. YES the numbers can be taken away for a number of reasons but the #1 REASON is the person doesnt pay his INSURANCE BILL and the numbers are REVOKED or should I say THERE AUTHORITY is REVOKED. Just to help you understand what goes on is USHIP DOESNT CHECK OUT anyones DOT or MC Numbers but they say in there user agreement that they are required and also have many places on there site telling you to check these out, its a kind of CYA if you know what I mean. If you look around you can see all the profiles that were or are suspended and read the feedback on these and you will see that EVERYONE 100% of them DIDNT HAVE a VALID DOT or MC Number and these people LOST THOUSANDS of DOLLARS of MONEY and ITEMS. Plus I heard but dont know if true but maybe someone else can chime in but if you hire someone to do this trailer for you and they CRASH or cause damage to another persons PROPERTY or LIFE "YOU" can be held responsible for the damaged they caused because they were working FOR YOU and you are there EMPLOYER. Now this would not be the case if you Hired a LEGAL COMPLIANT DOT CARRIER, something to think about. Anyway you can choose whomever you like "ITS THE AMERICAN WAY" but at least you have info that you need to make a wise choice. Also click on these links and read the feedback and you will see what I mean about using a NON COMPLIANT CARRIER. These are only two of the hundreds that there are out there on the site, there is one from upstate NY from Pottsdam NY that has some good reading but I cant remember his profile name, but read through the feedback of these and you will get the picture. It doesnt matter if its as small as a BREADBOX or as large as a ARMY TANK the CARRIER NEEDS to be DOT COMPLIANT Ask for their INSURANCE COMPANY INFO before your shipment is picked up to protect yourself from loosing your item. I am now just using this site for ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSED ONLY and will not bid on or take a shipment from this site

| Well Tony....why not bid. Come by here on the way and I'll go with you. Oregon, North Dakota, and Idaho are the only three states out of the 50 I have never made. I could get two of them this trip.  And yes Obama....there really is 50!

No, seriously, Tony is a good guy, and LEGAL and Compliant!!! I would trust him with my goods If I had stuff to ship from Florida! Heck, I might even HIRE him to work for me if he accepts my offer (hehe.. I think I beat out the usual UShip rate, didn't I?)
And, as to your concerns about the 'cackling hens' around here just trying to keep the non-compliants from getting work... there are some SERIOUS ramifications to using and/or being a non-compliant carrier!
and there are ways to tell if the DOT/MC #s that they provide are stolen or not! If they say they are XYZ Transport out of Tennessee, and their #s come back as SEMO Motor Carriers out of Missouri.... then you need to ask more questions (and contact the registered owner of the authority, in this example, Don [1MeanDog] to verify if that person is in fact part of their operation! If anything 'smells fishy' or doesn't 'jive' between what their profile says, what they tell you, and what your research reveals, then there is probably something WRONG and you likely should RUN!
Feel free to run my numbers through Safer just to familiarize yourself with the system. In another month mine will show 'Inactive' as I have leased onto another carrier (ACME) and am discontinuing my authority. [Of course, they might show 'revoked' instead of 'inactive' if the bureaucrats don't change it soon as per my request.... My insurance is paid through the Aug 25th and I am not paying past that as I am no longer transporting independently...]

As for me bidding I would if it could go within the next 3 or 4 days but not 4 or 5 weeks ahead. Fuel could go up or I might not even be in the area so I wouldnt even think of bidding on something that far out. Yes people do use them but its a CRAP SHOOT if you get it in the shape it was picked up in so you have to decide if its worth the risk of loosing it. Or better yet what is stopping someone tfrom aking it and just keeping it did you ever think of that? Then what would you do? They can put any old plate on it and be selling hotdogs & Burgers @ the local ballfield and you would never see your trailer again, tell me how many people are running around with a trailer plate on a trailer that doesnt even belong on that trailer? I bet thousands of them and thats because the Police dont check them out very much because most of the time they are not on the road that long and a trailer like yours someone can park it at a place like the SEMO TRUCK STOP and it would never move maybe for years. Something to think about but its your call if you can risk it all and by the way you are talking and posting something tells me a NON COMLIANT CARRIER will be doing it because of the price. So do you think I am still a nice guy? I am I just tell it like it is just ask Don he has know me for some time now. So like I said before if its still here when I am and it needs to go I will bid on it not until then.
