| I have received a number of offers of service through Messages rather than Bids placed on my listings. Should I be wary of these? Is there a reason why a Shipping company wouldn't just simply place a bid as opposed to sending an offer through the Messages system? Those that have appear to have good feedback. If I decide that I want to deal with one of them, should I request that they place a bid first and that I will then accept it through uShip? I would appreciate any insight anyone can offer. Thanks!

No, they simply want to make sure they can successfully service your shipping request. I do suggest you take into consideration their feedback rating though.

| And much more important than feedback, make sure they have the proper authority and insurance to transport your goods across state lines. I'd rather let a legal provider with a feedback of 1 or 2 transport my boat or bike than one with 100 feedback and no proper authority take it.

Do make sure they place a bid. A deal made though messages is not a binding contract and UShip will do nothing to protect you. If the service provider shows up and changes his price or details there is nothing you can do.
If you make sure they bid online, there is a legal record and you can always leave feedback about your experience.

| Do not believe any of them whether they have good reviews or not, when they give you a verbal quote. I received 2 or 3 verbal quotes through emails and when I told them I would accept they would not post the bid. I even asked them to respond whether or not they could do it and they didnt have the common decency to respond. They leave you hanging til the last minute thinking that you'll get desperate and accept a higher bid. Beware!!!!

| I sometime give a quote in the Question section when I have a spot open and moving through a area, 99% of the time I never get a reply from the shipper.

| Same with me I give a price usually a good one if I'm in the area in the question area or will bid but the bid will expire in hours I'm not hanging around usually more than 14 hrs then I'm on my way again. Shippers on this site have to respond to question or bids in hours these trucks are moving not sitting. If you want to schedule a shipment to be done 30 days from now then you need to state it. Transporters can give better prices on scheduled runs they can build also.
