I have had a couple of trips out to Long Island.
Unfortunately Long Island is a real PITA, if you not driving a car you have lots of troubles driving many places.
I am sure other places have the same problem, however so far I have not found one.
I am not even talking about a Tractor trailer or larger truck, just a simple pick up truck and maybe a pick up with boat/ RV or some other kind of trailer in tow.
Does anyone know of something like mapquest.com that can help route thru PITA LIE?
My gps can not be changed to truck vehicle unfortunately. I usually like to have a back up route when I head down to Long Island, and Mapquest, maps, and a few others just does not seem to get around the parkways in LI

| I too have been to long island and HATE it, I don't go out there any more but I have seen the trucker gps at truck stops and they are about 400.00 don't know if they are any better, but I would think so. I got in trouble with the law my first time there and got on a parkway, but they where nice and told me to GET OFF the parkway, what a nightmare that was, good luck in new york!!!

| Ever get near exit 10 (The T/A) on 81 in PA? Give a shout out for the computer repairman on the radio. He's got a repair shop close by & you can get the latest PCMILER for about 20-25 bucks in stalled on your laptop. Works like a charm, door to door directions/truck routes...does your trip/state miles for your fuel taxes too.
